SIR ELTON JOHN finds songwriting so easy, the longest amount of time he has ever spent on one song is three-and-a half-hours.
The megastar took on a songwriting marathon last year (04) when he created his forthcoming album PEACHTREE ROAD and the musicals LESTAT and BILLY ELLIOT.
He says, "Yeah. I wrote 60 songs in a year. One of the songs (in Lestat) is called PARIS, a conversational song in three parts.
"It's the longest song I ever took to write, three and a half hours. I thought I was going to go nuts. I thought I was going to have a mental breakdown."
3 and a half hours! That means it's either really great because he put so much effort in, or he really struggled with it. I hope it's the former! Ohhh gay Paris how fun!
I've been thinking about this song, and I have a wild guess what it'll be about. (may be little spoilers for TVL) I think it'll be a converstaion between Lestat and Nicki, after they arrive in Paris. They'll sing about their dreams, and what they achieved so far (Lestat getting the job at the theatre, but not yet an actor, etc). And it'll show the main difference between the vampires, you know, that Lestat is always optimistic, while Nici would have given up long ago. It's only a guess though. I think a conversational song has more than two people singing at once, but that's the most likely song I can imagine under the title 'Paris'.

but only brought more~

I write poetry, and it comes to me instantly, when it comes to songwriting, if ever, it would take me like days!!! Then again, it's Sir Elton John...he's been in the music business for how long?? *ponders* Haha, Sir Elton going through a break down?? Maybe, but it's highly unlikely. Let's just hope that the musical is a hit and we all go home happy.
I always thought that blonde vampires were never attractive, save for Sutherland's David in "The Lost Boys"...I just hope that Panaro will prove me wrong...
