Posted On: Jul 14, 2010 at 01:44 PMI have the CD, I have not seen the show itself, only listened to the songs. And I think it is a very very bad storyline where every charachter go OOC and in a way, that totally destroy them for me.
But I like the music, it just shouldn't have been a sequel to Phantom. If it had been a standalone show and didn't claim to have anything to do with Phantom, I suppose it would have actually been kind of a good musical. In my oppinion.
Posted On: Jul 23, 2010 at 09:45 PMYeah, same for me. I haven't seen it, but I have the CD and sheet music. I <3 the music itself, it's classic ALW. But I hated that the characters had changed so much. The phantom in the original was mysterious. No one knew if he was man or spirit or whatever. But in this one, he's just some lovesick dude with a messed up face. And I loved the original because it ended so brilliantly, with Raoul winning Christine's heart. It almost ruins Phantom of the Opera for me, knowing that it didn't really have a happy ending, and Raoul becomes a jerk.
