You can use Adobe Flash to convert your video to FLV format and then insert to your homepage as an object. There are some software which does that such as A4Desk Video Player http://video.a4desk.com, another named Flv-player, you can give them a try. They mainly convert your video into FLV format, then use a video player template to play the video on your webpage

Sure is, plus there are many free tutorials with supplied final FLA files to move things along.

Create a new flash file and save it straight away. Now, go File >> Import >> Video import. From here, you'll be stepped through a number of different options that effect quality, size etc. it's worth playing around to see what works for the type of video you're using.

Once you're happy with the settings, just press continue and flash will begin encoding your original video file (avi, mov etc.) into the flash video format - flv.

Once this has encoded, you'll have the flash video component on the stage, export this by pressing control enter and you've created your SWF that can be published onto your website. Make sure that the flv is uploaded next to your swf because this is the external video file that the swf will be looking to pull in.

I'm at work at the moment and have rushed through this, let me know how you go
Enjoy!
