Is the topic maxed out? I can't read any of the new messages. I go to the last page (22) and the last message is from July 18th.
I see that new messages are posted (ie from LadyD today) but I don't see them.
Weird.
LadyD | Jul 25, 2006 at 07:11 PM
I noticed that my message didn't show up, but I was unaware of others. Anyway, here's what I had posted:
I love all the stuff that you guys have put up. It's really generous of you guys to share. Btw, does anyone know if there is a video in existence of Drew in Voisetival 2005, A Celebration of Andrew Lloyd Webber? I would love to see/have that one, but I don't even know if it exists. Also, I know that Drew has performed Queen songs on several occassions and I am dying to see some of those. Imagine: Drew + Queen Music= Heaven!
aberendt | Jul 25, 2006 at 07:40 PM
OMG - Drew+Queen.... that would be to die for!!!!
Joanna | Jul 26, 2006 at 12:27 AM
It's doing the same thing for me...maybe it's too long!
Rock_Lestat17 | Jul 26, 2006 at 06:06 AM
Queen's the Best Rock Band Ever! And Drew is the best man ever. Nuff said.

Hi there
I bought a musical magazine the other day because it had a Lestat revoew in it (yeah of course it was bad *sigh*)...and.....a Drew Sarich interview... I hope you guys don't mind that I didn't bother to translate the whole thing but all I have to say is that Drew is really sweet and he understood the 4 books of the chronicles he read so far completely...you can tell by the things he says about vampires...I really heart him...
But I thought those great pictures I can't deny you so here they are...

I love this one

Armand trying to call someone? As Daniel knows that won't work very good
Sorry it's not the best quality I took those pics with my mobile camera since I don't own a scanner...
And that's the Sound of music Shop in Essen Germany.... with Drew's Hunchback of Notre Dame costume in it
And of course the "We will rock you" ad he was Galileo the hero of the musical *g*

aberendt | Jul 26, 2006 at 11:35 AM
I got the magazine too and did translate the interview (to the best of my ability considering I don't speak/read/understand german - well after doing this I can say I can read a little

)
Here's the link

Enjoy!

Wow that's really awesome that his costume is up for display!!! And I didn't know he was in "We Will Rock You". I saw in a lot of concerts that he sang Queen songs but I didn't put the two together, man what I would give for an audio of him singing Queen!
Jesse | Jul 26, 2006 at 02:06 PM
Ah oops I think I made a mistake he wasn't Galileo... I never saw that musical maybe I've read something wrong lol
I asked a friend who knows it by heart and she said nope he was never in it...so...sorry lol... but I could imagine him playing it *hides*

Does anyone know how long Drew is going to be in Jaques? I have the first week in sept off and I am thinking about going in to see it again.
But I remember reading somewhere that rehersals for Les Miz start sometime in sept.
I am seeing Jaques on sunday and if I remember I can ask him then, but I figured I'd ask while I was thinking about it.
Thanks!
Joanna | Jul 28, 2006 at 02:49 AM
I think rehearsals start Sept 10.
Little-Lotte | Jul 28, 2006 at 04:04 AM
Just got back a bit ago from seeing "Never Tell", the show is really different and interesting! I'd say go see it if you can! And the music by Drew is fricken awesome! They played songs from "Say It" as well as stuff he's done with International Victim.

Joanna: I wish I was going to NY three days earlier so I could see Never Tell...what songs did they use in that show?
I put this at the Devil's Den so I'll repost it here!
From his solo album they played:
Sunflower
Casanova's Waltz
Pushing Back
Big Game
South (First little bit of it, then they quick changed it which I found really funny laugh.gif )
His Hymn (I think, not 100% on that though)
Down (Not 100% on this one either)
From International Victim:
4 Eyed Surprise (Opening segment)
Gone With The Wind (Opening segment)
Days Upon My Knees (That was played at the very end of the show)
And other IV songs that I don't know, they were mostly snippets, that were enough for a scene change. His new sound is really hard now and I love it! The one right where they broke for intermission was absolutely beautiful!

I was talking with Drew about "Never Tell" today. He said that the show's gotten so-so reviews, though most of them praising the actors and Drew for his music. He was so excited and happy that I went to see it. And he told me to tell people and get them to come to support the theater company, it really means a lot to him. So if you can please go!
LadyD | Jul 29, 2006 at 07:26 AM

Little-Lotte | Jul 29, 2006 at 06:02 PM
Oh man....thank you sooooooo much for posting that clip. I fricken LOVE Queen and put Drew in the mix!!

I've thought about the uniqueness, power, and beauty that is Drew's voice and I swear, depending on how much of a "rock" career he ends up having, he could be considered the next Freddie Mercury in my opinion.

Well I'm only going to one show of Jaques Brel tomorrow (my friend doesn't want to go twice - but maybe she'll regret that after she sees Drew

) But hopefully he will still be in the show the first week in sept. (I'm going to ask) then I'll go by myself and see it again.
Little-Lotte | Jul 30, 2006 at 03:31 AM
I just found out from one of the guys at Broken Watch that they DO sell student rush tickets for only $15 at the door on the day of performances. He said show up by at least 15 minutes before show time and you should have no trouble getting a ticket. Just thought I'd pass the info along!

Just got back from Jaques. It was awesome. If anyone has seen the video of The Bulls. Well guess what .... I was in the hot seat. I don't know if it was because we talked to him between shows, but he knelt down in front of me and sang to me. My friend thought it was funny, but she wasn't the one getting blown a kiss. (wonderful)
He will be in the show until Oct (forget the exact date) He said he'd be pulling "double duty" with the Les Miz rehersals. And.... in Les Miz, he will be understudying...... <drumroll please> Enjolras!!!!!!! I said not that I wish ill will on any other actors, but it would be awesome to see him in that role. (hey he got bumped up in Lestat)
Now I'm off to plot a way to get the guy playing Enjolras to miss the 11/5 show.
Also I just have to say, that seeing Jaques has kind of given me some closure for Lestat. I can see that they have moved on and other things are happening.
Joanna | Jul 31, 2006 at 06:32 AM
Hooray! I can't wait to see JB! My roommate just bought our tix tonight. I think I know, but which seat is the hot seat?
And I can't wait for Les Miz...I'm glad I know nothing of the fella playing Enjolras, because I'm wishing him ill will on January 6. Wait, that was mean...maybe he'll take a "vacation."

LadyD | Jul 31, 2006 at 02:13 PM

note to self : shell out 45 dollars for a102 asap.
aberendt | Jul 31, 2006 at 03:54 PM
He might have recognized me. I talked to him between shows for about 15 minutes. Were you there last night?
Oh... I'll apoligize in advance to anyone who might be seeing the show this week. I am sick. I was feeling kind of iffy yesterday but I thought it was allergies. Well today I have a nasty sore throat and I am really congested. So if Drew misses any shows, I'll take the blame.

I just read that Lea Michele has pulled out of Les Miz to do another project. She was supposed to play Eponine, now they are holding auditions.
Now if only the guy playing Enjolras would get interested in another project....

Of course. lol
But as much as I'd love to see Drew in the part, Aaron Lazar (believe me- anyone see Light in the Piazza?) is absolutely nothing to be upset about.
haha

I can't remember where I heard this, but I think Aaron lazar is spending time in L.A. in between Piazza and Les Mis to see what inroads he can make in the TV/film world...so ya never know...

I wish Daphne would pull out.
I think Nikki deserves are real good, meaty part on Broadway instead of constantly being in the ensemble and the understudy for things.
Allison was really interested in doing something with Les Miz. She'd be, I think, a really awesome Eponine and I'd love to see her cast! But the only problem, as much as I love her, she looks 13 on stage and that just REALLY wouldn't work in comparison to the other actors unfortunately.
Let's hope that Drew gets some stage time as Enjorlas, like I've been saying, he has amazing luck as an understudy. So it's highly possible!

It would be hilarious if Arron Lazar (sp?) pulled a Jack Noseworthy, or something similar. It would make a lot of us very happy, but I think people might start getting suspicious. Heehee.

I spoke to Drew this afternoon after Jaques...
1 - A small label is releasing his album in September and if it does well, they will move it to a larger label (So BUY IT!!!!!!!)
2 - HE got my CD with the spiced songs (Drew singing Lestat & Armand in To Live Like This --- and singing Jesus & Judas in The Last Supper) and he said it was awesome!!! He loved it and now he has it on his Ipod!!! He even showed me. That is so friggin cool.
3- Another girl (I am so sorry I forgot your name

) asked him about his tatoos. Those eyes on his arm and shoulder. He said he loves eyes. and the one on his back is so he can see all around him (like eyes in the back of his head) He said he and his wife got them together. Awwwww....
-Amanda
OOooohohhhhh Yessss! International Victim's got a CD coming out? YAAAEEEYYYYYY! Do you know where they'll release it? i.e. will they release it in Canada??
That's two sold over here for sure LOL!
aberendt | Aug 20, 2006 at 04:41 AM
As far as I took it (I didn't ask the question) but I took it as *his* CD - 'Say It'
He'll probably announce all the details on his site. But being that is is a small label to begin with, it will probably be online.
Joanna | Aug 20, 2006 at 06:11 AM
Hooray for that p00p being released!
Haha...I asked him about his tattoos on Thursday. He's probably like, damn, leave me alone about the tattoos already!

I so love that splicing you did with those songs....I really should put it on my iPod actually...hmmm
I've always wanted to ask him about his tatts, but I either got sidetracked on another topic and/or felt it a little imposing to ask. But that's such an awesome meaning to them! I always love hearing about people's tattoos and the reasons why they got them and stuff, it's so interesting.
::still needs to design her own one someday::
Yeah Drew told us way back that we should expect something in September. And after I saw "Never Tell" for the first time, I told him that I can't wait for his CD and he pretty much told me "soon". So I'm assuming they'll release one or the other first...though I'm kind of thinking if he has a choice, they'll go with his band's label first, since a band is more marketable than a male singer. Just on the outside anyway, cause obviously both are absolutely amazing.
In September look on www.drewsarich-page.net, cause album info will no doubt be on there first before his official website...that site doesn't get updated very often at all! And Sabine, the girl who runs the fansite, is in direct contact with Drew so you can count on the information to be legitimate and from the horse's mouth.
Misty Black | Aug 21, 2006 at 12:58 AM
Thanks for all the information about the CD. I really appreciate it and can't wait until it comes out so I can immediately buy a copy...or two.

thank, so much. But does you, or anyone else;; have the whole audio of the show?
hmmm I don't think so. It's hard to get, apparently. You can't even find any video of Drew as Jesus on YouTube. I've got two other tracks - Gethsemane and The Temple - but that's all. You could ask around, some people may be interested in a trade.
Is anybody recording the Chatterbox interview tonight with Drew and the rest of the cast of Brel?
I certainly hope so! I didn't even get to see the other one!!!!!

I tried to check it out, but the damn work computer won't let me. Seriously I have no idea how they pick sites to filter. It is so random.
LadyD | Aug 28, 2006 at 08:36 PM
A lot of you were asking about Drew as Jesus. You can actually get the CD of his 2005 Vienna recording from a couple of shops online. I think this recording is the best one of the lot, since both Drew and Serkan really seemed to be at top form that day. Anyway, here is the info:
European fans:
http://www.soundofmusicshop.de/
American fans:
http://www.footlight.com/
Both sites are very reliable and they ship quickly. So, go get the CD b/c it's definitely worth it.
Little-Lotte | Aug 28, 2006 at 09:34 PM
I really don't think that Drew is gonna be on the "Chatterbox" with Jacques Brel. His first and only time on there was when he was with Carolee. This is an encore episode and will no doubt be with the original cast, i.e. Rodney.

Now that I am at home, Seth's site says he won't be doing any shows the last three weeks of august (prob on vacay)
luv4lestat | Aug 29, 2006 at 03:52 AM
Nope, I think that it was tonight actually.
At least, that's what I just found on Seth's site, though it took me forever to find it. O_o
And I recieved this earlier today too.

It's an encore presentation, which means it's a repeat...Drew was never on Chatterbox with Brel.
Also, on another topic, getting the Vienna concert recording is really worth it. It's a very good show.
I don't know if this is new news or not, because this topic is REALLY long and I don't have the patience to read the whole thing.

So if I'm repeating, I'm sorry...
But Gay Marshall told me completely randomly last night that she's going to Paris for awhile to see her husband who lives there, and that for a couple of weeks (the absolutely fabulous and sweet) Jayne Patterson will be taking over her role... and then for the rest of the time until she gets back, it will be Drew's wife, Anne Mandrella. I went, 'Oh, that's so awesome, she's great!' and she seemed surprised that I'd heard her sing. I said I'd seen a clip of those two doing a song together online, and that she seems to be very talented. She joked about whether or not she should be worried. :-D
But, yeah. Just thought that might be of interest if you didn't already know.

Meep. She didn't say specifically when - but it seemed like it was soon. You might be able to find out when she leaves, because Jayne is going on the first two weeks of her absence, and Anne the second two.

Thanks sooo much for the info! I think it's great news that Anne finally gets to do something here in the states! I will definitely have to see the show again now. Do you mind if I post this on one of Drew's message boards? There are lots of people who would be so happy to know about this.

Of course it will probably be sometime when there's no way I can go.

I've found out about this a little while ago and I really don't think this information should have been released on a public message board without an official announcement. PR people get kinda pissed when this stuff is leaked, granted cast members will tell people even before anything's official...it's how I knew about Anne going into the show in the first place and when Drew was going into Jacques and Les Miz weeks before anything was announced. The actors usually don't care but producers and stuff seem to especially when the info is leaked before any contracts and stuff has been signed. Obviously it's too late now...but it's also common knowledge to some about the replacement for when Drew leaves, so if you know, please don't leak the info.

LadyD | Aug 30, 2006 at 12:00 AM
I agree with Lotte. We received this information a few weeks ago (from several actors who shall remain nameless) but we didn't want to post it until it was official b/c the suits got really angry when Drew's Brel info was released unofficially. My advice to you is the following: I wouldn't bring it up until they do. If Drew wanted us to know, he would have told us. The people who did tell us are very VERY close to Drew, but Drew never said a word. I have no doubt that Drew doesn't mind us knowing, but I would hate for the sources to get in trouble with the people in charge b/c of this.

Well obviously Drew has now said something...
Little-Lotte | Aug 30, 2006 at 02:22 AM
xxx chérie xxx: Well obviously Drew has now said something...
It's one thing to say something to cast members who will be working with her, it's another to say it to fans. And yes some of us are told about things, however the last thing they want is for it to be posted publicly when the deal is not set in stone yet. It's like how long it took Drew to tell people who he was understudying, nothing was set in stone until he signed the contract and they're really not supposed to tell people. But obviously they do when they think it's okay. And as one of the few people who talks with Drew on a regular basis, he never did bring this up to fans. And myself and the few other people who had known about it never brought it up publicly or even to him.
It's not about keeping secrets or trying to act elitest as I'm sure is going through some people's minds. It's just so the actors don't get in trouble for releasing information prematurely. If they tell you, that's great! But it's best to keep the info to yourself until something official is said.

I agree that keeping secrets sucks. I also sympathize with the girl who leaked the info, since there is nothing more frustrating than having great news and having to keep it secret. Trust me, my first instinct is to jump on the boards and shout it off the roof-tops. The reason that we were keeping it secret was that Drew and several others got in trouble last time, and we don't want them to get in trouble again. If they keep getting into problems for this, they'll stop sharing info, and we don't want that to happen. When I found out about this, I told some people privately, but I didn't post it on a message board for everyone to see. Some are speculating that Drew himself leaked the info, but he didn't, at least not to the fans. He revealed it to his close friends and fellow actors. He has never brought it up with fans. We who knew never brought it up in front of him. I can tell you that I will not discuss it unless he brings it up first, simply b/c it is his news to bring up/release to the general public.

I'm definitely in agreement here. Hugh used to say stuff that he wasn't supposed to often enough...especially about Phantom. He'd mention things about certain people who were going to be at a show, why they did the performance without the prerecorded tracks one night, possible casting rumors about other people in the show. But if it was stuff he knew shouldn't be made public, he'd follow it up with a mock-serious "You didn't hear it from me!" Which was his way of saying, "Don't repeat this on-line!" And I've always respected that...not for the thrill of keeping a secret...just to keep him from, as you said, getting in trouble.

I have to say, I wouldn't have posted it on Drew's board if I had known it wasn't official. Next time I'll be more cautious myself. I wouldn't want to get anyone in trouble either. And I never had any intentions to do so. So, what's done is done. I say let's at least enjoy the news?

Joanna: There are some people who don't live in NY and can't stalk people, er, see shows every day.
I really take offense to that. I do know people like that, who frequent these and other boards, that really are crazy and stalkery. In fact I'm sure you know of them as well. But just because I speak/associate with them doesn't mean that I do the same thing. I won't discuss this further on the board, if you wish we can take this to PM.
But as everyone has been saying, what's done is done. I'm very, very excited that they've given Anne a chance! I hope this opens new doors for her and gets her in other roles soon!
Joanna | Aug 30, 2006 at 01:44 PM
I figured as much would happen...le sigh.
Jeez... wow. I'm sorry for setting off a firestorm.
I don't religiously follow these boards, so I had no idea Drew/other people had gotten in trouble in the past for leaking this kind of info. I don't know... if Gay had in anyway insinuated that this wasn't a piece of information to be shared, or that she wasn't supposed to be saying anything, I DEFINITELY wouldn't have. But she just <i>told</i> me. I didn't ask. She just kinda told me, like, ' hey, this is happening, maybe you want to come back when she's on!' It didn't seem like a big deal... and I also don't think she would have told me, someone who was just a fan and whom she'd never met before, if she felt that it WAS a big deal.
I told you guys because I felt that if anyone would be happy about this news, it would be all of you.
I know it wouldn't help much at this point, but is it at all possible to delete the posts in regards to Anne re: Jacques Brel? It would at least make me feel a little less horribly guilty. I had no idea what I said would be a bad thing.
That way.. I mean, the damage is done, but since it's not official... I mean, it won't spread around anymore than it has.
And for the record - I really resent the fact that some of you are acting so judgemental about this. I had no way of knowing what I was doing was frowned upon. I mean, when someone YOU don't know at all tells you something, do you generally assume it's confidential information that they've only told <i>you</i>?
There is really no need to act all high and mighty.
Again, though, I apologize for not knowing. What can be done at this point?
LadyD | Aug 30, 2006 at 03:46 PM
Fire In Her Stare:
I'm sorry if I came off "high and mighty" because I really didn't mean to. I stated in a previous post that I totally sympathized with your response and I do. You couldn't have known that Drew got in trouble before and people can't be expected to be mind-readers about everything. So, I apologize if I came accross too harshly. I simply wanted to warn people against future situations of this sort, since the producers get really pissed off about these things. I saw it happen twice, once with Jim Stanek and once with Drew. At this point, I don't think anything can be done about the situation, so we should just enjoy the news and hope that no one from the show finds it/ cares about it.
Nsnick88 | Aug 30, 2006 at 06:02 PM

I felt that way too. I had no way of knowing that the info wasn't supposed to be released, and that's why I passed it along. And I felt like as soon as I did, I had also opened up this huge wound where all of a sudden people were jumping down my throat. I definitely understand the reason for their concern. But you're right. There was no way we could possibly have known. Hope that makes you feel better.
Little-Lotte | Aug 30, 2006 at 06:05 PM
Fire In Her Stare: As Lady D has said, we weren't trying to come off high and mighty. And we weren't trying to attack you and I'm sorry that it came across that way, it was not my intention. I was the one who had leaked the information online about Drew being in Brel and I felt like crap when I heard the PR people for the show were really pissed off about that. What's done is done and it's been done on a Lestat board and other small Drew boards so unless they are like searching the internet like crazy no one will probably know anyway. And by the looks of it, the news will probably be officially released pretty soon anyway. So let's just drop all this negativity and focus on the good stuff!

Little-Lotte: It's not about keeping secrets or trying to act elitest as I'm sure is going through some people's minds. It's just so the actors don't get in trouble for releasing information prematurely. If they tell you, that's great! But it's best to keep the info to yourself until something official is said.
Oh no no no! That's not what I meant at all! I was simply commenting on the fact that Drew had said something now. I realize fully the situation and why people reacted the way they did - in no way was I trying to send some sort of message to someone. To be honest, other than being happy for Anne for getting the part, I really don't have much reason to care about it - I'll never be able to see Brel anyway. I understand you guys, all of you guys, and where you're coming from. I am part of this community of Drew fans as much as any other (even though I live so far away) and I have gotten to know many kind and wonderful people. I know you guys weren't being spiteful or elitist, and I know you aren't stalkers.
I just don't want you to get the impression that I thought you were doing it in order to feel important. I will admit that I was at fault - my comment was short and very vague, and though I don't believe I did, perhaps I could have given you that impression. So I will apologize and move on.
Love that photo. LOL!

Ok complete change of subject.....
I was going through some old stuff preparing to copy some VHS tapes to my computer and found an old print interview with Michael Ball (the original Marius) about Les Miz. Well the interviewer asked him about Marius's relationship with Enjolras and Grantaire.
He described the character of Grantaire as "the pissed funny one"
and I thought is that Drew or what?!?!?!?!?!

That's fricken funny!! How big is the role of Grantaire? I'm familar with Les Miz, but only through the cast recordings and I probably didn't really pay attention that much apart from the principal characters.

Grantaire is okay... he sings one of the best lines (that I can't wait to hear Drew sing)
"Give me brandy on my breath and I'll breathe 'em all to death!"
He also sings the second verse of Red/Black with Marius and sings part of "Do you Hear the People sing"
The character is basically drunk through the whole thing.

Yes, he's the one doing the whole, "I am a-gog, I am aghast! Is Marius in love at last" bit in "Red and Black."
He also has a sober moment in "Drink With Me."
I've yet to see or hear a memorable Grantaire yet...I like the character well enough, but no one's ever stood out in the role for me yet. So I'm curious to see Drew in it.
Joanna | Sep 1, 2006 at 03:44 AM
I really do love the fact that Drew's going to be playing the lush. The last time I saw Les Miz, I told my friend to watch for the character who had the solo in "The Red and the Black." I knew that was the role Drew would have, but I wasn't able to remember it clearly for the first time I saw the show. She even said something about how Drew would do so well as a drunko!
YAY! Thats who I thought Drew was playing in Les Mis, but I was never sure. That will be the first time my Mom will see him, since she can't afford to come with my to visit NYU in a few weeks, so it will be easy to point him out when we see Les Mis in February.
This is random, but kinda funny. In my town, the primary elections are September 12th and there is a man running for the House of Delegates. ^-^ His name is Sarich....... Its random, but all of my friends who know/luv Drew think its kinda funny and welll... Here is one of the signs:

Already did. Steff and I spent all afternoon whiting out where it says Michael and putting Drew on both sides of both signs. And changing the website on the bottom from micahelsarich.com to drewsarich.com.
I have to visit NYC for a college vist later in September and Lauren and I are going to give it to him since I am spending three days up there and have plenty of time to see Brel again and give it to him.
ahaha can't wait til you come back from that with a brand new fun Drew story for the Den!

*evil grin* O yes... It will be posted, trust me. Lauren probally wouldn't let me not post it, and I always keep a memory of a NYC trip on my myspace. But damn it, I'm a week early for what I really want to see. >.< Meh, three days in NYC, staying near the Zipper, is making my life right now. Knowing I can just leave the apartment and go down and BOOM, there is the Zipper and hehehe, maybe Drew.
This man is seriously making me poorer than I am, all the money I've spent getting CDs featuring him and the trips. Argh.

Guys, I have a question: I was going through the thread on this website for The Hunchback of Notre Dame, and at one point, Joanna posted a link for broadwayworld.com, and one of the avatars there (Joanna's) featured a picture of Drew flipping off the camera. His hair was shorter than in HAIR, but not as short as it is now. Since he had a black eye, I believe the picture is from Tommy. So, I was wondering, Is that picture from Tommy? And are there others like it on the internet? Thanks for your help.
Also, what do you guys know about Drew's participation in Fever? What's that one about? Who did he play?
i'd like to see this pic you speak of!

This is the link that Joanna posted; it's about Hunchback and it contains beautiful pic of that musical, but I am asking about the pic in Joanna's avatar at bww.com, with Drew flipping the viewer off. I think it's from Tommy, but I was hoping for confirmation and a source. I also would love some links to rare Drew pics (I already went to the official sites and stuff, but I'm seeing pics from Fever and stuff and I was wondering what people knew about them).

Btw, here is some info on Brel, for those that are going in September:
Natascia's back, and she's wonderful as ever!
Also, the schedule is COMPLETELY different because of the Jewish holidays, so be sure to check telecharge if you are making the trek into the city to see it. You don't want to spend massive amounts of money, only to discover that it isn't playing on a particular day. Here's the website:

Cajuncreole | Sep 6, 2006 at 11:55 PM
Also, regarding the song "Let's skirt"; it probably is "Let's rock." Babelfish and other automatic translation computer programs often translate "rock musical" as "skirt musical," since the german word for "skirt" is actually "rock."

Question for you all re: Drew/Les Mis./Jacques Brel - Broadway on Broadway.
Okay. I was planning to rush Jacques Brel tomorrow for the 2 pm matinee, but I only learned just now that Broadway on Broadway is ALSO tomorrow, and that there's going to be a 'sneak preview' of Les Mis in it. So my question is... does anyone know if a.) the matinee is still happening, or b.) if Drew is going to be performing in Broadway on Broadway and therefore won't be in for that particular performance of Brel? If not... is he going to be there in the evening? I don't want to go and miss him. :-(

There should be no problem if he does it or not. The concert is at 11:30am and the matinee for Brel isn't until 3pm. So I highly doubt he'd be missing a matinee because of it, if he's performing at Broadway on Broadway at all!

Broadway world.com listed STARS being performed. But you never know he might be there ??
aberendt | Sep 9, 2006 at 06:57 PM
Norm Lewis will be performing Stars. Since the 'stars' of the productions often sing their songs on Broadway on Broadway it is done well before matinee. (usually finishes around 1ish)
Can't wait. I'm going in early for a good spot. If I feel like it, maybe I'll try to rush Brel too.

Yes.. very logical. Oh, and that excites me. I love "Stars". Mayhap I'll see you around. ^__~ I have really long, curly red hair... so if you (or any of you!) see me at Brel or generally around tomorrow, throw me a wave. :-)

I would love to meet up with anyone tomorrow. I have shortish dark hair and glasses. (you can see pics of me on my site) Also I will probably be the only person there wearing a purple Der Glockner cap.
I am still thinking about going to Brel Depends on how I feel.
LadyD | Sep 10, 2006 at 07:22 PM
Does anybody here know where I can find a DVD of the Leading Ladies concert and the Musical Couples concert, which Drew and Anne participated in? If so, please let me know. Thanks!
aberendt | Sep 11, 2006 at 01:02 AM
I am still floating right now. Bway on Bway was awesome.
Then I went to get rush ticket for Brel.
As I was sitting outside the theater Drew happened to come out for a cigarrette. He peaked around the corner and said "Great Hat!" (I was wearing my Der Glockner hat) So I asked him to sign it. He rememberd my name from weeks ago. AWESOME!!!!!!!!!!!!!
My ticket was waaaaay in the back. So I asked if I could sit at the tables. She said she'd see. Then I wound up in the front row center!!!! Turned out Rodney and Anne were also at the show. Cool!! Bob flubbed a line in Middle Class... halarious!!!!
It was the best performance I have been to.
Can't wait to go back!!

Rodney Hicks was in Brel??? Or did you mean Roderick Hill?
On another subject, I am constantly amazed at Drew's memory skills. He remembered your name from way back today. When I first met him, I told him that my sister was a big fan, and I mentioned her name. I didn't mention it again for weeks. Then one day, I brought her with me, and he called out to her by name, and both our jaws hit the ground. Amazing! I can't even remember the names of the people I have class with

aberendt | Sep 11, 2006 at 01:25 AM
Yeah... Rodney... NOT Roderick. You know the guy who did Drew's role before he came.
LadyD | Sep 11, 2006 at 04:53 AM
That's sooo weird that Rodney was there! I thought he was working on something else. I wonder what he thought of the show, and how it has changed since he left (and it has changed quite a bit). It sounds like you had fun today.

Yeah, he's really good with remembering names/faces. The second time I met him he told me he recognized my face.
I just got back from seeing Brel and visiting NYU.
Drew luved the sign, when the photo gets uploaded, I'm gonna post it. He luved the sign, he said he hung it up. lol.
Me: I almost got arrested getting this. *holds out sign*
Drew: *laughs* Don't get arrested because of me! This is awesome!
And then I have a picture of us with the sign and I have one that he signed.
This man is seriously ADD and addicted to things I am. *facepalm* All of us talking and then this happened"
*spies my backpack and sticker*
Drew: "What is that!?" "Why am I not toast?"
Me: "Cause you're fucking awesome!"
Drew: "So I'm better than toast? That's like saying I'm the best thing since sliced bread only...not"
*grabs my sharpie and my backpack* "But toast is OH so tasty! Drew" is now on my backpack.
Note - front row is dangerous place to sit. I almost died during the whole show.

Hello, Everyone!!!!!
I have a huge favor to ask. Is there anyone who has a translation of lapdog n wildcat into English? I would really love to understand it b/c I heard it was hilarious, but I don't speak German. Can anyone help me? I'd be willing to trade other Drew stuff in exchange for the translation. Let me know if anyone is interested.

Thank heavens for that! I just wish that the dialogue could be available in English somewhere, since people seem to be laughing a lot during the show, and it seems very funny overrall. WHY didn't I take German in college?!?!?

If it were written down I could probably do it. I have been teaching myself German.
When I listen I can pick up words here and there, but not whole phrases (hey it's only been a little over a month)
And since I am learning a lot from 'Glockner" and "Tanz" I am learning completely useless, but really cool phrases. (like my old sig "Eine Reise auf den Flugeln der Nacht")

I'm not anywhere near NY btw, so if someone wants to ask that would be awesome. It just crossed my mind today.

I am not sure, but at the bottom of the article there is a photo of the ensemble rehersing.... I *think* you can see Drew on the right hand side next to the girl in the black tank top. It is only half of his face, but I think it is him.

There's a NEW behind the scenes picture of Drew in Les Miserables. A it's full sized photo quality. He's sitting with the composer of Les Miserables and playing his guitar. Soo awesome!
It's at Ali Ewoldt's blog (she plays Cosette). She doesn't mention the ensemble actors all that much but did spend a chunk of a blog praising Drew after she saw him in Jacques Brel. I think it's cute that of all the pictures she could have posted this week, one of them was of Drew. =)
Note: It looks small on the blog but once you save it to your computer it is FULL SIZED!

I seriously just had a fricken heart attack because I was joking about it as I was checking and then it was there!
Drew updated his official website:
"Les Miserables
I'm going back to Broadway! I'll be playing Grantaire (Covering Enjolras)in the Broadway Revival of Les Miserables! We start previews Oct. 22 at the Broadhurst Theatre, and open officially Nov. 9. Its a limited run of 6 months, so go out and get your tickets now!"
Not much of an update really, but it's still an update!

Joanna: Starting saving your money now!
I'm not working right now, for the first time in almost 10 years, I am out of work. I've received a few offers, but grad school is becoming increasingly hard, so I'm focusing on that. Luckily, this is my last semester, then I'll get a job. When I get said job, I'll be paying back loans, so I'll be in the red for quite a while.
If I do manage to catch Les Miz, it will be from the last row in the back, which sucks, since I am the shortest person in the tristate area. It sucks to be in NYC with no money; it's like eating steak in front of a starving man! I adore the theatre, I am in the theatre capital of the world, and I can't afford to see anything!

OH MY GOD! I love Hedwig. I wish I could express in words how loud I'm screaming right now. That's so amazingly awesome. Yay Yay Yay!
LadyD | Apr 27, 2007 at 03:35 AM
I forgot to add that, as of my last conversation with them today, Ann and Drew are aware of Hedwig (Ann found out about it and told Drew), and there is an interest, but they haven't explored that avenue fully. A lot of factors would have to fall into place before it could happen.
ETA: I re-read my message and I fear my phrasing may confuse people. When I say there's an interest, I mean that Drew is interested. No one knows what the producers are thinking at this point, since it's still so early. Even if they were interested in Drew, Drew has other options that he's exploring, so nothing has happened as of yet, so I don't wanna get anyone's hopes up. Let's hope it works out on both sides.
Drew or not I've been dying to see a live production of this for a long time so I'm happy either way. If Drew's in it, it would just be 97349283392765923475345 times better. =)
Joanna | Apr 27, 2007 at 11:21 AM
I agree. Drew would make it fantasticer (yeah, I made that word up), but I effin love Hedwig so much anyway. I don't care if he's in it or not!

I just wanted to let the fans know that Drew won't be appearing at the stage door for the next few days. If you're thinking of going to Les Miz to see him, please be advised that he can't see the fans for a while. Hey, guys, someone hacked into Drew's MySpace early Friday morning, so there have been bulletins, supposedly from him, about ringtones and other such nonsense. I got in touch with him before noon today to talk about it, but he's been in auditions all day, so he hasn't been able to get into his account to fix it. He will fix it soon, but in the meantime, ignore those bulletins.
Anybody else see Drew on the Tonys??

Joanna: Oh, damn, were those already on?
Yeah, last night. But don't worry, he wasn't actually "on" the show. They just showed a montage of stock clips from productions that opened this season that weren't nominated. It was just the last few bars of the "One Day More" scene.
LadyD | Jun 11, 2007 at 03:10 PM

I have to say, that concert takes the prize for Worst Drew Outfit (Mama Mia), but also for one's of Drew's best outfits (the semi-tux he wears when he sings On Broadway). It's a fun concert, but Leading Men is my favorite Drew concert, especially his rendition of Oh, Darling, which is AWESOME!

There's been sooo much drama backstage for this revival. At this point, I'm exhausted from trying to keep up with all the cast changes. That being said, I am EXTREMELY happy for Megan, who should have been promoted immediately after Celia's departure. I'm glad they're getting rid of Bruno, but I am sad about the way it happened for her and for Ben, since they deserved more professionalism from their employers. Whether you like Mandy or not (and I didn't), you have to admit that she was busting her a$$ out there, trying to get it right. As for Ben... there are no words to express how upset I am about his dismissal! Out of the entire company for this revival, only two people, literally TWO PEOPLE!, received universal acclaim from the critics and audiences, and those two people were Aaron and Ben, and they were both treated abominably. Both of them were sick, and I understand that Aaron needed to go b/c he wasn't getting better, but it was the WAY they dismissed him that bugged the hell outta me. As for Ben, his situation was different from Aaron's, b/c Ben was recovering from his illness. And I haven't even mentioned the way several of the others were ousted! Mind you, the atrocious Daphne Rubin-Vega was allowed to linger for several months before they finally let her go! Also, it continues to bogle the mind that they are letting go of someone as talented as Ben while keeping someone like Ann Harada on! What the hell is wrong with CM?!
As for Gary, I will be missing him dearly while he's away. I adore him! I will also miss Victor terribly, since he is so wonderful. I don't see Ben C as Valjean, but I wish him luck, b/c he's also a wonderful talent. It makes me sad that he will not be the factory foreman any longer, since I think he was perfectly suited for that track.
I hope the people who remain do not let their spirits sink in the midst of all this uncertainty, but I wouldn't blame them if they did. I'll try to catch the show soon, before Gary leaves, I hope.
Joanna | Jun 18, 2007 at 09:38 PM
Gary got old after awhile...same old, same old. As for Ben, I'm really going to miss him! I thought he did a good job!

LadyD | Jun 19, 2007 at 04:42 AM
Hey, guys!
I just got a late night phone call from Ann. There is HUGE news on the way for the Sariches! Drew's news should be announced soon (when he receives authorization), so keep your eye on his MySpace over the following week. Ann has some interesting project options in her future, but they won't be confirmed for a few weeks yet, so don't expect it immediately. If and when it is finalized, you can expect to see the details on her website.
About the Cds, they are taking a little longer than planned, but they ARE coming, so there's nothing to fear on that front!
Bye!
Joanna | Jun 19, 2007 at 11:19 AM
Hooray! Things were starting to get a little quiet, so I'm not surprised there's an announcement! Can't wait!
LadyD | Jun 19, 2007 at 03:27 PM
In all the sleepiness last night, I forgot to mention some bad news. Megan McGinnis is NOT the new Eponine. I know that's what was announced, but it seems that CM has already withdrawn the promotion from her. The man is clearly unbalanced, hiring and firing people faster than anyone can report. As of right now, Eponine has not been recast. Perhaps, if CM finds that he can't recast the role as he would like, he will leave it to Megan, but his intention is to replace her if he can. Clearly, he's an idiot, not to mention highly unprofessional. In addition to the actors who lost their jobs this week, it is sad to see that many people behind the scenes lost their jobs also. Apparently, he fired people left and right. I can only imagine what the morale at LM must be right now.
Oh god, Les Mis is turning into my last show all over again (Twelve Angry Jurors). Lovely.
Joanna | Jun 19, 2007 at 08:19 PM
That's really sad. People in the theater industry have things really hard. Despite all the glamour and glitz it appears to be, I can't imagine how stressful it is to have your JOB hang in the balance every day. Apparently, it doesn't matter if you're good (Ben Davis) or not, you can be dropped at any second. Terrible thing.
Little-Lotte | Jun 19, 2007 at 08:56 PM
The lesson here is NEVER work for Cameron Mackintosh if you can help it. He really is mentally unbalanced and has no idea what the hell he's doing. But when you're as rich as he is, I guess you don't have to make sense or care.

If I had a penny for every time I've heard Hugh tells someone "I didn't get into this business to stay safe," it would cover my Starbucks habit for the rest of my life. Over the past two years, I've really come to admire the resilience of those that can tough it out.
I remember when CamMack. came to audit Phantom back in 2005. Hugh mentioned before the show that Sir C. would be in the audience that night ("And you did NOT hear that from ME"} and, while he had no worries because he was leaving in two weeks, I got the general sense that Sir C's presence was generally viewed as a visit from a potentially destructive deity.
Anyhow, I'm definitely curious about the news.

So, Cam Mac has changed his mind yet again!! and he gave the part to Megan. My guess is that he doesn't like her, but can't find someone he likes better. At the present moment, Megan is extremely sick and has lost her voice somewhat, so she is still performing the ensemble track. She should be bumped up soon.

I love Megan! I just wish they wouldn't string her along like this. Also, CM has been very unproffesional in his handling of cast changes in this revival, and I'm NOT just talking about the replacement cast that just got fired. It goes back to the very beginning, with the others that have "left to pursue other projects." This man is awful!
yeah he really is. i'm sad they're like messing around with Megan but I ADORE her so I'm glad that she has the part at least for now.

yes i am too.
i really cant believe that CM can just fire people and string them along without a second thought. it truly isn't professional in the slightest. and it's just mean. but at least megan has the part for now. i hope she stays long enough for me to get a chance to go back and see her.
i just realized...this is all extremely off topic since this is drew sarich thread haha

OMG! Great news! I can´t believe I´m gonna miss that...
Cheers for Drew!

Boy, I don't go see HIS show for a month, and he gets a brand new role that forces me to go and see him! Man, this is gonna be REALLY interesting!
Any ideas on when he starts?
LadyD | Jun 22, 2007 at 06:07 PM
I didn't get any specific dates when I talked to them, but I THINK mid-July or early August. I could be wrong, however, seeing as how CM is insane, and changes his mind on a daily basis. Alex started his vacation already, so I'm leaning towards July, but I don't really know.
Cool, that gives me time to save money and becuase I'm hoping next week he might go on as Javert when I'm there.

I think he will be. They told me he'll be Javert quite a few times, at LEAST 50% of the time. The question is: will they give him next weekend, seeing as how they gave him this one? I guess I won't see his Grantaire or Enjolras again
, but I'm happy for him, very happy.
i'm wayyyyyy too excited right now
i saw him as grantaire and javert, never enjorlas but omggg VALJEAN!!
i'm on such a high right now hahaha

I've only seen him as Enjorlas. I bought my mom tickets for Christmas back last June for February, we get there and bam!, he is Enjorlas. The Pirate Queen closes and I Love You, Your Perfect, Now Change doesn't do Thursday shows, and bam! there is a big chance he will be Javert. Though, I have "seen" his Grantire. Would love to see it live though.
I've decided, if I can save up the money for another bus ticket, I'll go up on a weekday and rush with aheartthatfits. I'm vvveerrryyyyy interested in hearing his Valjean seeing as I have seen this show 4 times and only have seen 2 men as Valjean (yeah, I saw Randal Keith three times as Valjean, freaky).

I am so happy for Drew! He deserves the chance to do this part. He has paid his dues.
With all the changes and confusion about the parts in Les Mis, I am thrilled that he came out on top of the pile of bodies.
He was wonderful as Javert and he should be just as good in this new role.
Please tell us when you find out his actual starting date. I think another trip to the city is in order for August.

I was praying that he would play Fantine when Daphne was doing the role, uughh!! When Daphne left, I prayed that Drew would play Eponine so I wouldn't have to see/hear Mandy. With either role, Drew can hit the notes much more beautifully than the ladies in question.
And yes, I've been teasing Drew for WEEKS! that I'm holding out for Drew Sarich's one-man Les Miz show, in which he plays all the parts.

7) Drew Sarich can slam a revolving door.
8 ) Drew Sarich does not get frostbite. Drew Sarich bites frost.

Joanna: Slightly off-topic, but still related...does Les Miz still do Tue - Thur student tickets since the schedule has been changed?
I think they do, but they're next to impossible to get, since people camp out there for hours to get them. Your best bet would be TKTS.
This list is quite popular here on Brasil, everybody uses it with their own favorite actors. I´m still laughing that someone adapted it to Drew. Here are another ones, please send it to him =) :
When God said "let there be light" (sorry, I don´t know the exact sentence in english), Drew Sarich answered "say please".
Drew Sarich lost his virginity before his father did.

Ever since Lea Salgona joined the cast it's been fuller and fuller. Now with the summer months all shows are seeing a big boost in box office sales since school is out and kids can get tickets for cheap. If you would get there when it opens (because I think they changed the rush policy) you might have a good chance at getting decent student rush...just don't go on the weekends, because I think it's pretty much sold out nowadays.
Joanna | Jun 27, 2007 at 03:37 AM
Ugh, I get really nervous waiting until the last minute. I get worried I won't get tickets! I'm sure I'll be able to get to the box office almost when it opens on that Thursday. Does it open at 10 or 11? I'm too lazy to look it up myself.

I'm honestly not sure. However the show is almost always on the TKTS booth, don't know how good the seats are and I know that it's more expensive than student rush, but it's still cheaper. There is a discount code going on now to get tickets for like $65 and lower, plus you get to choose your seats. Go to BroadwayBox it should be on there.

Ummmm, who was upset/mad/sad, etc? Not me, I just pointed out that she wasn't the only one who made that mistake.
Now, if you really want me to get into it, I will say that I think it goes against Netiquette to make multiple threads about the same thing, especially in a board that is not dedicated to Drew Sarich. I've heard complaints from several people about boards that become inundated with threads regarding Topic A to the exclusion of Topics B, C, D, etc. I must confess, however, that I have been sometimes guilty of this bad habit, so I am trying to curb it as best as I can. I don't know the person who runs this board, but I want to be respectful of his intentions, assuming that his intentions were to give equal time to each castmember and to minimize duplicate threads. Like I said, I'm not perfect, so I didn't jump down her throat, contrary to her opinion that I did. Comparing my statement to Bww was laughable, considering that they (and I) can be MUCH more vicious. My statement wasn't meant to offend. I also won't apologize for it, since it happens to be true.
Fan for a day | Jun 28, 2007 at 11:33 PM
I think it is rather sad that someone needs to make anyone feel bad or belittled because they aren't as "in the loop" as you may be. Some people may not live on this forum as you apparently do, and although we are fans are not as obsessed and have other things going on in our lives.
It definatley was a snippy reply by you and Little Lotte and deserves an appology. I would think as administrators of Anns website you would be more courteous to their fans. As friends of Drew and Ann, you are not representing them in a manner in which people would not assume that they are as snippy and uncourteous as yourself. I woul think your goal would be to increase their fan base, not pee-pee off their fans.

As friends of Drew and Ann, you are not representing them in a manner in which people would not assume that they are as snippy and uncourteous as yourself. I woul think your goal would be to increase their fan base, not pee-pee off their fans.
1) No one criticized her for not being in the loop. It would be stupid to assume that every fan has all the information at the same time. Obviously, you haven't been paying attention to the conversation at hand, since it had nothing to do with "the loop" and everything to do with reading the post and the thread that had already addressed the issue. Furthermore, it was a suggestion (and a confession, since I admitted to making the same mistakes myself) more than a critique; she was free to take it or leave it, not to go about feeling victimized by such mild comments.
2) You don't know what I do with my private life outside these boards. I may be lazy layabout or I might be out saving orphans for all you know. For the record, I'm doing neither thing. The point is, you don't know everything about me, so you are in no position to know what "other things" are going on in my life, which by the way, is a very busy one that has little to do with Drew and Ann. Of course, you felt it was your perogative to assume, and you know what they say about ASSumptions.
3) I am NOT Drew Sarich's publicity person. I am in no way, officially or unofficially, attached to his publicity. I do not run his website, his forum, his livejournal, his blog or his MySpace. It is true that he sometimes contracts us for specific things (Ars Nova, Zipper gig, CD, etc), but these contracts are finite. Sometimes, I get a phone call/text message or e-mail when he wants to let me know some news, and I CHOOSE to share it with people, but I am not his publicity person. I am merely a fan, and as such I am allowed to make any observation that I wish. If he ever wants us to run his website, we will be happy to do that for him, but at this moment in time, he runs his own stuff. If he is reading this (and Drew is aware of a LOT of the stuff that happens on the internet), I would not be ashamed of my remarks, since Drew doesn't expect me to withhold my opinions, ESPECIALLY in light of the fact that I don't run any of his stuff.
4) I do run Ann's site, and that contract is indefinite in nature. Even so, that doesn't compel me to agree with all of her fans all the time. Even though I am attached to Ann, I am a separate individual with opinions and observations. She is aware that she is dealing with a human being, not with a puppet or a robot. I've often told her that she is free to terminate the contract if she grows unhappy with something I've said/done. She giggles and tells me to stop being silly. Point is: if either of us were unhappy with the arrangement, either of us could call it off. Obviously, we're happy, since we're still here.
Furthermore, as a devoted humanist, I refuse to believe that people are stupid enough to equate my views with Ann's/Drew's. It would also be a sign of a weak mind to abandon Drew/Ann over comments as harmless as those above made by people who are not Ann and Drew.
5) Finally, in looking at your number of comments (1 comment), I have to come to one of two conclusions. Possibility #1: you are here for the first time, in which case your very first comment was made as an attack against us instead of a celebration of the Lestat show/actors. If that is the case, then that says a lot about the type of person you are, and we'll leave it at that. Possibility #2: You are a regular member of this forum, in which case you assumed a new identity to attack us. If this is the case (and I believe it is), then I suggest you grow a pair and confront us under your real name, or are you ashamed of your opinions? Until then, I really can't take you seriously.
Bye!
FYI, ^THAT was me being "snippy"!
Joanna | Jun 29, 2007 at 01:30 AM
As much as I hate to do this, I'm commenting. If you (fan) would look at Lotte's response, she clearly said "not to be mean..." No one is trying to be nasty, just pointing out the obvious. It was very clear that we were talking about Drew playing Valjean in this thread. Simple as that, no need to argue or get worked up.

You never know which cast you'll get in these next few weeks! It's always a surprise! I got Jeff as Valjean, Victor as Thenardier, and Drew as Javert last time I watched it. Half the ensemble is different now, so it's a totally different show.
LadyD | Jun 29, 2007 at 03:16 PM
I just got a message that Saturday (tomorrow) is Drew's final show as an ensemble member/understudy. He will then take a short vacation and start rehearsals to return as Valjean. So, if you wanna catch his Grantaire (or maybe Enjolras/Javert) one more time, now is the time to do it. Just remember, when in his presence, to watch your watch your valuables, especially the silver, since he's a thief now, or as he calls it, a "silly bread stealer."
Just an aside that has nothing to do with Drew (so I'll keep it brief): I want to take this opportunity to thank the people who have supported us soooo much on amandrella.com. I don't take the time to say that enough, and I wanted to correct that mistake. You guys are awesome, and I thank you for all the good wishes and notes that you've sent us on MySpace, amandrella, and on this forum, especially over the past 24 hours. You guys rock!

Drew's new blog is hilarious

:
Au Revoir, Grantaire!
Today (Sat.) is my last Grantaire show. Time to put the drunk to rest. He has been such fun to play, but IT IS TIME!!!! No more drunk mumbling, dumb posturing, or dick jokes. No more brooding on the barracade, or Kumbayaing with the boys on "Drink With Me", or Drilling Jeff Kready in the pooper. Or ...maybe not. Perhaps Valjean has a penchant for dick and fart humor. 19 years in the clink does something to a man. OH YEAH IT DOES!!!! That'd be a choice! Anyhoo, I'll be absent from performances for the next 3 weeks until I start playing Valjean on the 23rd. Thanks to everyone who came out to enjoy my desheveled alter ego! Hope to see y'all again soon!
I'm glad that he's already finding his subtext for Valjean!

does anyone know the date in august that broadway on broadway would be? because i want to go see him in les mis then but i dont want to buy the tickets for that day and risk missing him as valjean...
aberendt | Jul 5, 2007 at 11:47 AM
Broadway on Broadway is usually the first sunday after labor day in Sept. It's the free concert in Times Square.
If you go, you won't miss any shows. Last year, I went then I saw the matinee of Jacques Brel.
thanks

There's a new interview with Drew on Broadway.com. It's part of their "My New York..." series and it's sooo funny! Enjoy!

That was cute!
He starts as Valjean today! I won´t be able to go see him, but I´m so excited. ^^
EEE!!!
I'm sooo excited!!
My friends had an extra ticket to tomorrow night's show and they asked me to go! Now I get to see Drew as Valjean!! I'm sooo excited right now! Best last minute surprise ever!! And I have work in the morning but I am wayy too excited to sleep right now!! YAY!!!!

haha, I guess I'll see you there as I'm meeting friends there while they stagedoor.
LOVED IT! He was so good. His Who Am I? blew my nonexistant socks off. And Bring Him Home. The costumes seemed strange on him after being used to his Granatire and Enjorlas ones.
I can't wait to see the show again Wednesday evening.

I'm not gonna write a lengthy review cuz I'm at work, but here are some thoughts:
Robert Hunt as Javert-
I adored RH as the factory foreman, and I wanted desperately to see his Javert. Now, that I have, I can say it was a great disappointment to me. His voice is great, but he doesn't act the part properly. To be more specific, he doesn't earn his redemption, if you wanna call the suicide a redemption of sorts. For the suicide to work, you have to believe that there is an element of goodness in Javert throughout. I saw absolutely no goodness in RH's Javert during the show, which made his suicide inexplicable and out of character. He had the opposite problem of Norm, who was too nice as Javert. Javert should be intimidating, but honorable. Norm was not intimidating, and Robert was not honorable. Given that, I'll take Norm any day, since his voice is superior. My fave Javert continues to be Ben Davis.
Max von Essen-
As I suspected, he's grown a lot in the role. I especially love his interaction with Grantaire, the way he keeps him in check. He's still not what you would call strong, but he's good. His wedding scene butler is one of the best things I've seen.
New Grantaire whose name escapes me:
Hated the way he did his little, nameless characters, but I loved his Grantaire. Where Drew's Drink With Me was bitter and combative, this guy's is full of sadness. He literally tears up singing it. When Gavroche dies, he folds up his little flag on the table before joining the battle.
Dan Boggart-
He keeps getting better and better. He jumped back when Fantine threatened him in front of Javert. He is victimized/molested by everyone in Master of the House. He's wonderful.
Zach Randt-
Hate his Gavroche.
Ben Crawford-
Wonderful, wonderful factory foreman. Wish I could see him as Javert, which he still covers, btw.
Ann Harada-
While I predicted that Max would improve, I never thought that Ann would. Happily, I was wrong. She really has come a long way since her first performace, and she adds nice bits here and there. I think she's putting a lot of work into this, and it shows. Still don't love her voice, but then Mdme. Thenardier is not supposed to be melodious or soothing.
Chip Zien-
People have complained over and over about Gary's tendency to go broad with this role. I think that if there is one role in Les Miz that calls for a broad, barely restrained portrayal, it's this one. That being said, there is a difference between skilled comedy and shouting as a substitute for comedy. For those people hoping that Gary doesn't return, let me say this: Chip makes Gary seem like a timid wallflower of subtlety by comparison. I couldn't stand Chip's Master of the House, or his entire first act. He just shouts all the time. His delivery of the lines is rough, and timed all wrong. I have to admit, however, that he improves significantly in Act 2, and his Dog Eat Dog is BETTER than Gary's. I also love that he slaps Eponine at one point. He's good (better than Gary) when the scene calls for darkness, but he is awful at the comedy bits, which comprise most of the role, from MotH to the Wedding.
Drew as Valjean-
Let's face it; I'm biased and completely unreliable when it comes to reviewing Drewey, so I'm not gonna do a proper review of him. I will limit myself to this: he's the angriest Valjean I've seen (when he's in prison and on parole), then mellows with age. He's very dignified as Valjean, treating people in a benevolent, paternal manner, which I think is very suitable for the role. The reason I say that is that people believe Drew to be incapable of excercising restraint, but he does. True, he's not the most traditional Valjean to hit the stage, but he is wonderful in his own way. It also annoys me when people compare Drew as Valjean to Daphne as Fantine. Both have "modern" voices, but there is a great difference between them: Drew is talented! He can sing all the notes (much better than Alex can), and he can act like there's no tomorrow. I really, really hope that people can keep an open mind about him, because they're in for a treat. His Bring Him Home is exquisite; he truly knows how to caress the notes he sings. I'm excited to see him again ASAP.
Anyway, let's face it. One of the key parts that we were most looking forward to with Drew as Valjean was the last note of Who am I. So, here's my gift to you:

Thank you SO much, Diana. I wasn´t expecting to be audios that soon. ^^

Haha, I was thinking of doing precisely that!
And, yes, that note is glorious! You should hear how tenderly he sings Bring Him Home. That voice comes from the angels.
Joanna | Jul 25, 2007 at 01:09 AM
Ok, girl, we'll fine tune the details. I told you August 2nd, right? Yay, I'm CRAZILY (i that a word?) excited!
Diana, I'm going to comment on a few things you said because I found them really interesing.
Rob. I kind of liked Javert not having redemption in a way because it just leaves him as this cruel horrible character who gives up because he knows that he can't get Valjean instead of actually feeling bad. Though I adore Rob beyond words I do however still perfer Norm. I unfortunatly didn't get to see Ben Davis. Really sad about that.
Max, the first time i saw him in the part i was like blah. but you're right he has grown signifigantly. His voice just isn't strong enough to be Enjolras though. I mean he has a really great voice it's just not powerful or booming. I do however also love his interaction with Grantaire. It's also really strange and unfortunate for me to talk about max because whenever I watch him perform I can't think of him as a character and just sit in my seat going okay yeah that's my cousin and I can't watch him because I feel awkward for some reason. haha
I do really like the new Grantaire. The thing I noted about him after Gavroche dies that really got to me is he starts waving the little flag almost immitating enjolras as if he were a child too. It made me cry actually.
Gavroche....no one will be Brian RIGHT Diana?! hahaha <3
I hated Chip. Not going to lie. I thought he was a terrible Thernardier. He wasn't funny and just plain annoying. On the flip side though I still don't like Ann she did get better. but she just annoys me too.
And I can't even speak about Drew properly still. The way he sang Bring him home had myself and everyone around me in tears. When the final note of that song played i could hear people around me really crying. and some of them not even just a theatre cry but actually crying. hard. And the end note of Who am i blew me out of my seat I think my head hit the ceiling. I still have the bruise on my leg from here phil grabbed me. "That voice comes from the angels." that's exactly what I was thinking through the entirety of bring him home. he really is blessed. My friend kept commenting on how amazing his range is.
Diana beat me to it. I was going to post Who Am I. Haha her's is probably better anyway! haha
oh and P.S. I'm really glad they made Megan full time Eponine. She is by far my favorite person in that role and I believe I've successfully seen every person who plays that role in it. Celia, Megan, Marissa and Mandy. Megan is by far the best.
and i really missed Nikki Rene last night. Haha who is out for 3 weeks upstate doing a production of Aida. =)
So I want to go back like tomorrow. haha
I would also like to note how funny it was when the chair didn't break in the confrontation and drew's holding up this huge piece of like half a chair at Javert. hahaha
I can't wait to see how he grows in this part. He so deserves this.
LadyD | Jul 25, 2007 at 11:13 AM
I heard people crying their eyes out when Drew sang the finale (before Cosette and Marius show up). They really, really loved him. I don't know how Les Miz purists will take it, but I hope they can be open to him.
As I said, I was one of Robert's greatest fans when he was the factory foreman, so I was predisposed to liking him as Javert, which is why it was such a shock that I did not. I understand what you mean about Javert's redemption, or lack thereof, but I believe that the character HAS to be honorable. He has to believe he is doing the right thing. Robert struck me as plain nasty, sadistic and corrupt, as opposed to determined and self-righteous. Also, he's completely composed throughout, then suddenly and out of nowhere, he has this suicidal crisis. He should start breaking down when he sees Valjean in the sewers, but he was composed all the way until he reached the bridge. But the part I HATED the MOST was when he climbed to the very top of the barricade at the moment it turned to show us the dead Enjolras and Gavroche. That moment, and the impact of it, is based on the tragedy of their deaths. It is supposed to be about THEM! Robert made it about him, and that is unforgivable.
I had forgotten to mention Megan in my review. She is SO wonderful. I swear, her voice is like a little bell. I love her! That being said, I preferred Celia as Eponine b/c I can believe that Celia would survive on the streets more than Megan would, but I adored Megan.
As for Brian, you know I adore him. I actually plan my Les Miz visits to make sure I get him as Gavroche. Now, it seems he's no longer in the company, which makes me very, very sad. But, even though I argued with my friend about Brian vs. Jacob, I actually loved both boys, I just preferred Brian. I would give anything to have Jacob back now that Brian is gone. I loathe the new kid. He's all over the place. Also, Gavroche should be cheeky, but not annoyingly arrogant, which Zach is.

I used to visit this forum a lot, but got busy moving from Florida back to St. Louis, Missouri. I'm so glad to be back in The Lou.
Good to read your comments about Drewz as Valjean, ladies. Diana, you STILL have a great writing style! And Misguided Melody and broadwaygeek and others, too numerous to mention.
I am re-signed in with a different e-mail address and user name. I used to be, I think, cajuncreole but that doesn't work anymore because of the old e-mail address. So hullo again.
I have tickets to see "Les Mis" when it plays at the Muny in a few weeks. It's the last show of the season. Whoever is playing Valjean, I'll be wishing it was Drew instead!

Little-Lotte | Jul 25, 2007 at 07:20 PM
I guess I'll chime in on the review front, it seems pointless sometimes because I basically say the same things all the time! haha
Anyway Drew was wonderful as he always is, always has been, always will be! There are very few roles that he could never play, very few. His only problem, and it's not anything he can control, is that he still looks too young! He's cursed with the babyface and until he's like 50 or 60, it's not gonna really change/go away. So he still looks years younger than the other characters and, especially if your up close, makes it look like he and Cosette could get together! haha
His voice, while definitely not tradition for this role, is at the same time absolutely beautiful. He hits the notes so effortlessly. His final note on "Who Am I?" was spectacular, so strong and, gosh, he just held it forever without it wavering at all! It was incredible! His "Bring Him Home" was like a sweet lullaby, where he caressed the notes so softly and so powerfully. It was so beautiful! I, like a lot of the audience, got all teary-eyed because of it. He adds a lot of his signature vocal nuances to the score, which I'm sure the Les Miz purists wouldn't like, but I felt was a really unique direction to take it.
Now his acting...I've said this a lot to friends. Drew is primarily known for his unique/powerful/beautiful voice that people seem to forget how WONDERFUL of an actor he is! His 'choices' are uniquely his own and really brings out other parts to the character that having scene it with other people, you never notice or have never been tried. For instance, he is very angry and bitter at getting denied work/shelter because he's a criminal. Instead of the sadness and fear that Alex showed when the Bishop approached him, Drew showed anger and then absolute shock and bewilderment at being shown mercy/kindness. He also overcame the HORRIBLE blocking that occured when Valjean steals the silver. Instead of just randomly throwing the chair down as he runs to leave (which never made any damn sense to me) he steals the silver, accidently knocks the chair over and screams/sings (as what is written in the original score) and runs. Another part was during the barricade scene when he has just released Javert and he overhears Enjorlas telling Marius to rest. Instantly Drew turns around shocked/happy to have found the boy he was looking for. There are a lot more moments, but these little things really give depth to the character and they're so obvious once you see them that you wonder why no one else had done them before!
Drew is wonderful in the role and I know he's only going to get better with time. I know that he's casting is unfortunately gonna be an issue with a lot of the Les Miz purists. But in my opinion, if this revival is supposed to be fresh and young, why not have a non-traditional Valjean in the role? Their problem is that they'll have a few actors (like Drew) who put a different spin on the score, than hire all the other performers in the traditional fashion. Don't get me wrong, I love this cast! But if they want to get this "new, edgier, younger, sexier" Les Miz, then hire more people like Drew to balance that out. As wonderful as he is, Drew does seem a bit out of place, not become he's bad, but because he clashes with the rest of the company. However since he's Valjean that also kind of works since he's the outcast/criminal on the run throughout the whole show.
My turn for a review
I thought Drew did really well, however it was a very different role to see him in. Like you said, he's cursed with the baby face. Also he's not chubby like our traditional VJ's. Despite what my friends (having never seen him in anything before) were saying, I couldn't say that he disappointed me. Because that would be a lie. He did a fantastic job and definitely brought new elements to the part that no one has seen before and therefore will, unfortunatley, criticize without a second thought.
I loved his "Bring Him Home" and I got all teary eyed. I honestly wasn't sure how Drew was going to do the song, but I loved how he kept it traditional but still bringing his own element. I loved that he was probably the first Valjean that I have ever heard that could hit those notes very comfortably. That was definitely nice to hear and it made me smile
I definitely agree that he was an angry Valjean, but I actually liked that about his performance, unlike most. He brought various emotional levels to the character rather than simply the loving fatherly side. I enjoyed it.
I was saying to my friends that they also had to keep in mind that it was only his second night in the role and that he still needs a lot of time to get more comfortable, as does the audience. I'm excited to see his growth when I go back next.
Overall for my third time seeing the show, it was definitely just as incredible as the first two times. I can't say that I wish anything was different or was way better one time as compared to another. There's always one reason why each performance is better than another. That's what makes me want to see this show so often.
Then of course seeing Drew after the show was great, even if it was for only a couple of minutes. I told him that he did wonderfully. I don't think he's capable of anything less....but maybe I'm just a tad biased...in a good way

So, I went three times in my stay in NYC and Drew got better and more comfortable in the role every time he got up there. So many people were crying around me yesterday evening. He is such an angry Valjean, something I've never seen and it works for him. Others who would try that, it wouldn't work for, but with Drew it does so well. On his second night, Drew DID pass chair breaking since Monday it was the whole back of the chair, lol.
The new Grantaire I was so disappointed with on Monday. I didn't feel like he was there really, just doing the motions. But Tuesday, he was totally different and just on. Max, oh... man, I still feel blah with him. His Enjorlas just is BLAH to me.
I liked Chip as Thernardier. James Chip is better than me, but Zein was good too. If I had my choice, James Chip would be my pick for the role.
LadyD - Ben's Javert is my favorite Javert. Ever. Rob used to be one of my favorites (he was my first Javert ever so I guess biased?) but after Ben, he seemed lacking to me. I had seen Norm and I liked him but Ben blew. me. away. Rob was okay, but seeing Ben, I' was like, oh *disappointed*. I would have loved to have seen Ben up as Javert with Drew this past week but I hope to get up again and he will go on as Javert.
On the bus back home this woman next to me started talking to me about the shows she had seen on her trip and she started raving about Les Mis and Drew especially. When I told her she had only seen his third performance as Valjean, she told me she didn't believe me. I played her some other stuff of Drew's and she was amazed by him even more. It was cute, she must have been at least 80 and was bobing her head along to Say It.

You saw Ben Crawford as Javert, and I think his voice is OUT OF THIS WORLD!! But I was talking about Ben Davis when I referred to Ben as my favorite Javert.
FYI, if Gary had to leave the show, I wish James Chip Leonard could've gotten the role.

I'm looking forward to seeing Drew next week. ^_^
I know a few of you have all the Drew 411, so... Do you know if there's any weekday he wouldn't be performing- (for example, Wednesday, when there's also a matinee?)
I'm probably being overly cautious... I just wanna make sure I see Drew.

Drew will be performing at every performance unless he is ill and feels he can't perform. He very rarely misses shows, so unless he gets a really nasty bug, I wouldn't worry.
Diana I totally forgot about Rob jumping on top of the barricade to look at Enjolras and Gavroche. Yes I hated that too. I loved Rob and I liked his lack of redemption as I said but that moment was just so ruined when I saw him pop out of no where. I almost yelled actually. Haha

Oh my god, Drew was completely phenominal as Valjean. I have never cried that hard at a show!
I really enjoyed the new Enjolras and Grantaire aswell.

I'm gushing all over the place about Les Miz last night. Drew was absolutely amazing. I've never been left breathless by anything before, much less a theater moment, but "Bring Him Home" left me gasping and shaky...for real. People around me were gasping and doing all the oohs and aahs after that song and "Who am I." It was just fantastic.
I don't think I've ever hugged Drew before, but after the show, I just grabbed him and told him how g-ddamn proud I was.
Freakin' amazing. Still, 12 hours later, I can't stop thinking of how much he's changed just since coming back to NYC. Phenomenal.
oh my gosh thank you!
he sounds even better than i remember it <333
Joanna | Aug 9, 2007 at 01:48 AM
Jesus, a week later, it doesn't matter how many times I hear that; it still gives me chills!
I have tickets to see him again Aug 28th. Haha My parents decided they wanted to go. YAY!
Lucky!! Ahh I need to go back.!
but now that I have a job hopefully I can save up enough to

MisguidedMelody: Rob.
But that's not the point of the character though. In the book, Victor Hugo literally says that Javert found God on that bridge. The true, kind, loving, forgiving God that he didn't know existed before. Valjean's act of kindness gives him a spiritual epiphany that breaks through his walls of bitter jadedness born of his(like Valjean's) low caste, so to speak. Without the remdmption aspect, the character is pointless. He proves the opposite to Valjean, the ones who, have not gone too far to learn better, but far enough that they won't allow themselves to be saved out of sheer pride. When Javert first contemplates suicide Hugo says:
"He had a superior, M. Gisquet;
up to that day he had never dreamed of that other superior,
God.
This new chief, God, he became unexpectedly conscious of, and he felt
embarrassed by him. This unforeseen presence threw him off his bearings;
he did not know what to do with this superior, he, who was not
ignorant of the fact that the subordinate is bound always to bow,
that he must not disobey, nor find fault, nor discuss, and that,
in the presence of a superior who amazes him too greatly, the inferior
has no other resource than that of handing in his resignation.
But how was he to set about handing in his resignation to God?"
His suicide is both moral defeat and redemption and it needs to be built up that way. Javert's not just the evil policeman who chases Valjean around France, he's what Valjean would have been, morally and emotionally though he fought against both his former"people" (gypsies, lowerclass, criminals) as well as The Law and eestablishment though he worked with it, had the Bishop never shown him kindess. Valjean and Javert were actually based on the same person, Francois Vidoq. Every character has a psychologica/metaphorical signifigance in Les Miserables. Plus, another large part of the character is how he's so morally upright(in the book it's said he's physically incapable of lying, even in dire situations), which makes him even more of a tragic figure, understanding so much and yet so little.
Thanks for the explination. I haven't actually read the book yet so I'm only familiar with the characters via musical haha. Once I read the book I bet a lot of my opinions will actually change hah that always happens to me.
Little-Lotte | Aug 9, 2007 at 07:16 AM
It just is such a shame how so few people got to see Ben Davis in the role. He was the entire package: voice, acting, evil without being a charicature, etc. He brought such tension into every scene, yet you never got the feeling that he was an EVIL man. He was corrupted by his own morals, he thought what he was doing was right and stood loyally to those beliefs; a fundamentalist, if you will, which made his suicide and preceding scene before it actually have meaning and provide conflict within himself. He is my favorite Javert thus far out of all the ones I've seen (Norm, Drew, Ben C., and Robert) I still don't understand their reasoning for firing him. GRR it still angers me! Thank God someone got a video of him! If anyone can find it I recommend doing so and watching it, because he was just incredible.
Joanna | Aug 9, 2007 at 11:19 AM
I saw Ben back in May. I thought he was excellent, too. That was the time when a lot of the replacements were, well, kinda "weak." He definitely stood out.
Little-Lotte | Aug 9, 2007 at 01:05 PM
Unfortunately I only got to see him his opening night and that was the last time. I can only imagine how much he improved over the few months that he was there. And yeah, the replacements really were a let down for the most part, thankfully they got rid of the real weak link and gave it to the one who should have gotten the role when they first started replacing people. I swear, I just don't understand the casting with this show. They make some amazing decisions but then other times...I swear they just like to see people cringe in their seats and then bitch about it on forums!

I agree 100%.
My ears still hurt from the other one.
Anybody have any advice on cheap tickets for Les Mis? I heard you can get a discount by showing a college id- can someone tell me how much of a discount is offered? At this point I'll take any seats, I just want to see Drew again, and am starting to despair =(
Thanks in advance!!
And to make this post semi on-topic- I saw Drewjean July 25, and surprised him with two hand-made punk sweaters for his kids =D I absolutely fell in love with his Valjean, and have convinced my friend, who is slightly skeptical of Drew's singing (no idea why) to see the show with him in it. Hopefully she'll become a convert...
Student Rush: Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday 2 hours before the show give them you're student ID and IF they're not sold out they'll give you what they have for students (usually in the mezz) for $26.25
Good Luck!

*dies of laughter*
I was standing like, right behind you when you handed him those and then I walked down to the end of the line to meet up with some friends who had seen the show that day! LOL
Now with the student rush, can you do that with the Wednesday matinee as well, or just the evening shows? Cause I'm aiming for the matinee, but I read somewhere that you can only do it for the evening shows, is that true? Sorry for all the questions- I'm trying to foot the bill for myself and two friends, but depending on the student rush rules, I might have to ditch one of them D=
Hey broadwaygeek, if I'd known you would be there, I'd've brought your plushies!! (you're the same broadwaygeek07 from Hugh-Panaro.net, right?) Small world, lol =P

Yup, I e-mailed you right after I read your post, lol.
$26.25 student rush seat, available at the box-office two hours prior to performances on Tuesday through Thursday evenings. Students must show valid ID and are limited to two tickets per ID. Tickets are subject to availability. Offer is not valid December 25 through 28, February 14, and April 3-12. Tickets may be purchased with cash or credit card at the box office only.
I think that means you can for matinées.

She might wanna ask before she tries a matinee. I've had problems in the past with that. When I rushed in the evening, though, I got Row A!
I've never rushed the matinee honestly so I have no idea. I *think* you can but you might want to call the theatre and ask.
Yeah. I've heard that it depends on the theatre and/or the show whether you can rush certain performances.

So, I asked the people at the Broadhurst Box Office this weekend, and they responded that student rush IS available during the Wednesday matinees.

Hey guys!
I'm gonna take this opportunity to partake in a bit shameless self-promotion, and announce that Heather and I are going to open a new board: a Drew Sarich Board. Yes, I know, does the internet really need another board?? Well, I believe that as Drew's career grows, more people will want to check out the fantabulous Mr. Sarich. We (Heather and I) have been debating this for a while, but Drew made our decisions for us when he gave us his blessing and encouragement. So, if you guys are interested in Drew and his career, we welcome you to join. Details will follow soon, since we are putting the finishing touches on it. Hope to see y'all there!
-Diana
PS Drew is astonished that anyone cares to follow/discuss his career.

Gingersnap | Aug 26, 2007 at 08:18 PM
Diana,
I wish you guys tons of luck with it!

Congrats Diana and Heather! You two will do amazingly!
Congrats! I'm looking forward to joining

I'll add you to our Links page over at HPN when I update later.
Question--
I was just trying to register and it came up that I'm not entering the right confirmation code. I'm not complaining, of course, you guys just opened it. I was just wondering why that's happening?
Thanks

Oooooo, thank you! You know what's funny? I was talking to Ann last week, before her trip, and she was making a list of stuff she wanted to get for me from Europe, and she was asking me about some European artists, then she suddenly bursts out, "Dammit!!! I can't get you that one; I lent it to Hugh Panaro and he never gave it back, gggrrrrr!"
I love that girl!

Hey! We're trying to figure out what is wrong. I don't really understand phpbb very well, I feel that they're overly and unnecessarily complicated. Anyway we're trying to fix the problem.

okay, thank you!
LadyD | Aug 27, 2007 at 03:56 AM
the confirmation code is case-sensitive, so if a letter is upper or lower- case, you have to enter it EXACTLY as you see it. Try it and let me know here if it still doesn't work.
The problem I'm having is that the confirmation code isn't showing at all...there's no code or box to type it in anywhere...
LadyD | Aug 27, 2007 at 04:03 AM
I just disabled that requirement. It should work now without asking you for one.
Okay it works now
Thanks!

I definitely laughed out loud when I read that. Whatever it is, here's hoping Hugh didn't lose it entirely...though I would not be surprised!
Anyhow...you're more than welcome and the link should be up now.

Eclipse,
Is there any way you can give us brief instructions as to how you did it? I didn't download them (and I don't plan to), but people on the board have been asking about it, and I thought it would be helpful to tell them how. Or is it self-explanatory, and people are just having trouble b/c MySpace is malfunctioning?
Eclipse | Aug 28, 2007 at 08:56 PM
It seemed very straight-forward to me, but sure, I can walk you through it. Before doenloading anything you have to create an account with SnoCap, using either a credit card or paypal account. (I'm pretty sure SnoCap directs you in this, but I made my account back when Drew put up Rescued and So Immortal for the first time, so I don't really recall the details.) After that, you should just be able to click the songs you want, go to check out, and press the "Download" button for each song you bought on Drew's page (It'll directly bill your account, after you become a member.)
So... Yeah. It's pretty simple, unless Myspace is screwing up.

LadyD | Aug 28, 2007 at 09:27 PM
Thanks! I'll post it on the board for those people that want to order it that way. Hopefully, MySpace will behave for the people who want to purchase it there.
Joanna | Aug 29, 2007 at 03:03 AM
Nevermind. Snocap apparently played with my emotions the past couple days. I got it to work!

Just saw this interview on Playbill.com...
http://www.play...cle/110730.html
aberendt | Sep 5, 2007 at 09:44 PM

Wow... just read that.
Looks like I probably won't see him again... I'm having major issues right now... emotional and financial. The emotional ones just have to play the waiting game and wait for it to pass (not necessarily a good thing, but time heals all

supposedly)... financial... I just got back from Australia and well... lets say I shopped till I dropped.
BUT... if he's going to be in the UK for a bit, then maybe I'll see him next year... I am looking into going back there sometime next year... London and Cardiff.
Little-Lotte | Sep 5, 2007 at 10:54 PM
That's a long time...it's sad that he'll be gone, but it's such a great opportunity.
aberendt | Sep 6, 2007 at 04:50 AM
Little-Lotte: Right now his run is scheduled for 6 months. Obviously that could change.
Wasn't Les Miz originally supposed to be a six month run too.

Haha! True, however I think cause of the whole Equity thing it won't be extended, though Lord knows Cam Mac wants to keep Drew in London! haha
Though I'll be honest, I don't think Drew can last in the role for longer than 6 months unless he gets WAY more rest than he already is. He's been sick and he's starting to feel the strain in his voice already and it hasn't even been a full 3 months!
aberendt | Sep 6, 2007 at 05:45 PM
I've told people I know in the UK and even mentioned it on a couple of UK-based forums I'm on where I know there are theatre people around.
Eclipse | Sep 9, 2007 at 07:50 PM
Anybody know Drew's final day as Valjean?

(well, here anyway)
I'm pretty sure it's October 11th.
vampiresxkiss13: I'm pretty sure it's October 11th.
Diana:
Hey, everyone, I just got a phone call. Drew's official last day in NY Les Miz is 10-11, but that date is VERY VERY VERY likely to change, so I would hold off on buying tickets, if I were you.
They are all flying from NY to Vienna, and then Drew flies to London to start rehearsals on 10-15.
Eclipse | Sep 16, 2007 at 07:11 PM
Okay, thanks
So, since that date is likely to change... Anybody know another date, a day that he'll definately be performing? I really wanna get tickets to see him before he leaves- not necessarily his last show, as that might not be plausible, but just before he goes. ;_;
It's been announced that his new official last day is October 7th. I'm going to be getting tickets for that day.
I know this was talked about earlier, don't remember what thread, but about student rush for Les Mis. While they say only Tuesday through Thursday evenings, my friend definitely got us student rush tickets on Friday night. Sooo, you if you want to try your luck, you never know. And they were really good seats too.
aberendt | Sep 16, 2007 at 11:54 PM
Ok, I'm definitely not going to be able to see Drew again. Not before the 7th. I am getting a new puppy and that will be costing a lot. FIrst getting the actual dog, then the initial vet bills and such. So.....
I AM hoping to go to the Broadway Flea Market next week. I haven't been into the city since Feb!!! And I think I'm going through withdrawl.
So I'm planning on seeing Drew's last show, but I'm debating whether to wait and get tickets at the theater, or order them in advance. Which would you guys recommend? I know getting tickets same day will be a lot cheaper, but is there a chance they might sell out early, seeing as it's his last day? Thanks in advance!!

The fact that it's a sunday, it could easily sell out, aside from the fact that its Drew's last day. I'd suggest getting them in advance. Even if you could get them on the day of, seating options are gonna be pretty bad.
That's what I thought, thanks lotte. I'll buy them asap. =)
I bought mine at the theatre wednesday night
Row J seats 2 and 4
woot.
I'm not sure if I should be really excited or really sad.

ahhh I neeeed to get my tickets! Any idea if there are that many great ones left? Not that it really matters. I'll sit wherever I have to!

Go to Telecharge and just search for what's avaliable.
Oh wow, I haven't been on this forum for ages.
Does anyone know when Sarich might leave Les Miserables? Or not anytime soon... haha.
Joanna | Oct 7, 2007 at 08:39 AM
Tomorrow.
Awhile back somebody posted a complete Drewjean audio. If it's not too much trouble, can someone please upload it again? I'd be really greatful.
